I've been doing some speculative work for a local county council team whom I cannot mention (yet :) and in doing so I've tried to investigate the state of play in terms of what is happening here in the UK from a council point of view and what some of the more progressive ones are doing. The main purpose was to orient myself. I also borrowed heavily from some of the consultancies operating in this area, starting with Dominic Campbell of FutureGov who very kindly pointed me in the right direction (he is definitely the man in this space :) As the title of this post might suggest the emphasis is web/enterprise 2.0 and/or social media and how this is being leveraged to create more participatory communities and engaged and productive council employees - the networked society in effect :) Its very much a "quick and dirty", work in progress and covers different aspects (a little more on which below) that will continue to evolve over time. Just bookmark and follow the actual Prezi or this post and feel free to comment with input here or there. All credits and further areas of exploration are in the end section of the Prezi. No comments
